Um, hi there. Glenn said i should make one of these, so here it is, for all of you dying to know anything and everything about me. im a simple guy, for the most part (not to be confused with a simpleton). so im just gonna type about myself. makes sense right? 3 hours a night is not nearly enough time to get to know me, especially when i dont have your full undivided attention. hehe. I dont expect u to read this whole thing. that would be demanding and evil. so i'll list some of the important stuff, then go back to the beginning for the rest. if i feel like it.

  1. I am lazy. no doubt about it. if there's a chance i can shorten the time it takes me to do something, or eliminate the workload entirely (short of doing the work. haha) chances are i probly will. notice how im typing this in shorthand. like i said, LAZY. oddly enough, i get less lazy when something's fun. interesting how that works isn't it? haha. and helping people is fun, so if u ask for my help im not gonna be a jerk and try to get u to get thru it quick just so i can go back to my seat. oh, but i dont have eyes in the back of my head. if u need my help and i cant see you, either come get me or shout my name or something. well maybe not shout, but u get the idea. im sorta against aimlessly walking around the room, cuz its a waste of time/energy (i.e. lazy. haha) and it makes me feel kinda useless, just wandering. so i dont usually wander. i'll try to spread my wealth of wisdom somehow, but no promises.
  2. I am not a socialite. Far from it. But last semester i made some good friends, and im hoping to get some more practice in this semester. Part of why i decided to stick around as TA. That, and because the rest of my classes are online. Yup, five classes of sitting at home typing. Coding, theater, coding, PE, and coding. Yes, you read that right, I'm in an online PE course. Amazing what technology can do nowadays. Anyway, I thought it'd be nice to get some fresh air once a week. I am not a very social, outgoing, talkative person, for various reasons, which i'll get to later. Suffice it to say that i will probly not talk to you unless u talk to me first (in most cases). especially now that im a TA and not a student. That just makes things harder. i feel like theres some stigma that prevents me from clicking with u guys. hopefuly i'll get over it. So if u need my help or uve got some problem with me or u just wanna tell me how awesome i am, feel free. im not deliberately ignoring u guys, its just that i need practice. but you can talk to me. im shy, not antisocial.
  3. Funny is good. I like making people laugh. Trouble is, people laugh at different things. But theres a 50/50 chance that something i say shouldnt be taken seriously and/or literally. Example: remember the comment i just made about somebody wanting to tell me how awesome i am? i know thats probly never gonna happen. I talk the talk, but i dont walk the walk, so to speak. anyway, the other thing i absolutely have to bring up is my sharp tongue. A lot of the time i can keep it in check, but sometimes i just cant resist making a remark that could get me into trouble. it's all in good fun, but just know that if i tease you or make a joke at your expense, im not intentionally trying to knock you. im trying to get a laugh, especially from you. Like when we were making the signatures that were going to go into our books. I was helping an unnamed student (*cough*Rachel*cough*) sew the pages together, and i told her to go out through the middle hole. She almost put it thru the top hole. What else was i gonna do? that's prime comedy material folks! (To Rachel: sorry rachel. To everyone else: bugger off. just because i poke fun at someone and bring it up on a public thingie like this, does NOT mean the rest of you get to poke fun at her for this. if u wish tho, u can bring her a diet coke for the next class. the school doesnt have any. ;-) and if she's like me, she is not fun to be around running on zero sleep and without a diet coke.) i try not to pick on any one person (too much. hehe). and if i do, it just means i like you as a person enough to poke fun every now and then. NOT that i have a vendetta against you and yours. (if you're reading this and wondering how i can say i want to make friends while at the same time poke fun at people, ur not alone. ive been trying to find the answer for that for a long time. haha)
  4. I am not an art buff. This is very important as far as you as art students are concerned. I can do art that has specified steps involved. (im a very logical person.) but if i was to sit in front of a paper with a paintbrush, itd still be blank after an hour. im not all that creative. for example, ask me to draw a cartoon and i'll give u a blank stare, or i'll say do it urself. but i can draw a Celtic knot easy-peasy, cuz theres lots of steps involved. and a ruler. haha. anyway, what this means is i probly dont know any more about the subject of art than you do. I can get you through the how-to for something in class, but not the what-to, as in what to do to turn it into a work of art. i can tell you how to sew a pamphlet, but i cant tell you whether i think blue or red paper would work better. (blue, definitely blue. ;-) haha ).
  5. Wow. For someone who doesn't talk much (see #2), i sure talk alot. (hold for laughter and/or applause). props to anyone who's still reading. i hope its not just cuz ur bored.
  6. im younger than i look. no joke. not like i'll tell u how old i am. its always fun to keep people guessing. :P
  7. I like videogames. 'nuff said. Don't ask me to play favorites. I don't have a favorite game. A game is either fun or it isn't.
  8. Im an ecclectic when it comes to music, minus rap and country. (sorry country and/or rap fans, but Country + RAP = CRAP) rock is good, but not too old. im thinking 80s is about as far back as i'll go, but there are probly exceptions.
  9. Movies are good. I've probly seen enough movies to get me thru the next ten years. (as if id actually go ten years without watching a movie. haha). Comedy is good, action is good, anime is good (but im not a hardcore anime fan), chick flicks i evaluate on a case-by-case basis. If u want me to watch a horror movie, then id better have a damn good incentive to do so. (in case that didnt make sense, that means i dont like scary movies). NOTE: horror movies may be monster movies, but monster movies may not be horror movies. godzilla's good, as is some dracula stuff. no twilight. twilight is the girl-ified version of the Underworld series. sorry girls (and guys?) but half of bellas lines involve stuttering and repeating herself. painful stuff. (yes, to my eternal shame i have watche twilight. Mom had the remote. ;-( it was 90 minutes of my life i will never get back. )
  10. Just wanted to end this on an even number. I've always had a thing for even numbers, as odd as that sounds. [laughter]

I guess thats all the super important stuff. Feel free to talk to me about any of this, or about yourself. I prefer listening to people anyway. (not that much though. come to me with ur life story and i'll probly fall asleep.) problems are good though. woulda said it the first night as a guilty pleasure, but i couldnt figure out how to word it: i like helping people. think charlie bartlett, and kudos to those of you who actually know who he is, without having to Google him. helping people w their problems makes me feel all warm n fuzzy when someone decides, with all the shoulders in the world, to cry on mine. on the other hand, i feel bad wishin for this cuz it means there has to be a problem to begin with, which i wouldnt want to wish on my friends.

Basicallly, im just a person, with all the quirks that personness comes with. I aint some hardass jerkoff that likes to insult people willy nilly. I aint some antisocial emo kid who is scared of talking to people he doesnt know. I aint some lazy hick who just used 'aint' in three consecutive sentences (your eyes are deceiving you). I am a bit of a wiz kid tho, aint gonna deny it. Got book smarts up the wazoo, yet no people skills. maybe if there was a book or an instruction manual or something for being social and dealing with people, then i would have people skills. but for now i dont, or at least not great skills. I will insult people on occasion, but generally do it for laughs, not to insult people. Unless u really piss me off, but thats kinda hard to do. I am kinda scared of talking to people i dont know very well, especially when they seem to be having a good time with other people. if they are, i feel like im intruding. if they arent, i feel like id have nothing to talk about. go figure. im not a hick, but i am lazy. its part of the reason im here at cypress college.

whelp, thats about it for now. i wont know if u read this unless u tell me u read it. so if u ask me about something i said here and i give u a blank stare, please clarify. haha. u can always email me, unless u lost ur syllabus. in which case its a good thing u cant hear me laughing.
